Teacher: Paula Horne
THIS COURSE REQUIRES A MINIMUM OF 4 STUDENTS!
This one semester course explores the political theory and everyday practice that direct the daily operation of our government and shape our public policies. The objective of this course is to provide a clear idea of how our government operates. Students will develop an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the American political system, as well as their rights and responsibilities as citizen. We will also explore and compare the American form of government with other governments around the world. Because this is an election year, a lot of attention will be paid to current political news and events and there may be an opportunity for being politically involved. This course is designed to satisfy the Georgia state graduation requirement of American Government/Civics.
