We are closely monitoring the current COVID-19 health crisis, the CDC guidelines, and the fluidity of the information concerning social distancing, test data, sanitizing, etc. In addition, we are looking at other educational institutions as they work to open and conduct their 2020/2021 school year.
We ended the 2019/2020 school year in virtual classrooms and our teachers are now practiced in that, so we will be able to transition to that if necessary; but our hope is to be in person.
We know we have some students and teachers whose health is fragile or compromised as well as many families who care for older adults in their household. We want to be very careful, if the science and data warrant, to be mindful of everyone’s health situation. For example, if the health climate necessitates wearing masks, then everyone will be required to wear a mask. We do not want to unnecessarily or carelessly put anyone at risk.
Since this situation is ever changing and evolving, we will make some decisions concerning surviving in the COVID crises while attending classes at VPE as we move closer to the beginning of the Fall semester. Updated information will be posted here.
We would like all families to be confident that we are working to make sure each student is able to learn in a safe environment.
